VET Student Loans

What is VET Student Loans?

VET Student Loans is a loan program that helps eligible students enrolled in higher level vocational education and training courses at approved course providers, such as Advanced Education Australia, pay their tuition fees.

A person’s access to a VET Student Loan is approved by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. You access the loan for your course, and the debt is then managed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Each VET Student Loan eligible course has an associated capped amount. Eligible students are only entitled to loans up to the specified capped amount of each VET Student Loan-eligible course.

Students do not have to repay the VET Student Loans until their income is above the minimum repayment threshold for compulsory repayment. Voluntary payments may be made at any time to the ATO.

Further information and the eligible VET Student Loans course list is available from the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training website.

We Protect your Fees

The Sydney College of Skin Care chooses to be a member of the ASTAS to provide prospective students with the assurance that their tuition fees paid are protected. For further information on the ACPET by-laws under which it operates and regulates the ASTAS, and the Code of Ethics required of ACPET members may be found on the ACPET website –

The purpose of this scheme is to protect the interests of people coming to Australia on student visas, by providing tuition and financial assurance. The scheme ensures that overseas students displaced from any course conducted by an ACPET member participating in OSTAS, due to the member’s inability to continue the course, will be efficiently relocated with minimal disruption to studies in a comparable course with another ACPET member participating in OSTAS or other approved provider.
